Ten reported killed in car explosion in New Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 10, (dpa/GNA) – At least ten people have died in a car explosion and resultant fire in the Indian capital New Delhi, media reports said on Monday.

The blast in the evening at a traffic light near the Red Fort palace complex, also injured numerous people, according to NDTV and other Indian media outlets, citing police sources.

The cause of the explosion was initially unknown. The authorities have not ruled out the possibility of an attack.

The identities of the victims were initially unclear. The roads around the affected area were closed.

Several other vehicles were damaged in the incident at the complex, which is a popular tourist attraction.
