The durbar, held at the Akatsi main lorry park, which recorded thousands of people and dignitaries, was on the theme: “Securing the Future of Avenor through Skills Acquisition, Employment, and Economic Growth.”
Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, Paramount Chief of Avenor Traditional Area and President of the Avenor Traditional Council, in his speech, commended the government, individuals, and institutions championing the success of the festival for development.
He explained that the festival served as a platform, among others, to showcase the unique history, attract visitors and investors, and amplify the economic potential of Avenor.
“It is our cultural mirror and our development catalyst. With our theme, we align ourselves with the government’s 24-Hour Economy vision.”
He said they remained in high anticipation for the construction of the 24-Hour Economy Market in the Municipality to expand employment, sharpen skills, and invigorate the local economy.

Togbe Dorglo commended Mr Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament of Akatsi South, who is also the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament for his lobbying efforts that saw the upgrading of Avenorpeme Youth Centre to become a full technical school.
He urged the youth to embrace the government’s soon-to-be-launched ‘Nkonko Nkitikiti Project’ that was designed to usher them into poultry production for economic empowerment.
Togbe Dorglo encouraged the youth to hold the keys to the transformation of the area by embracing any form of skills training such as digital technology, fashion, masonry, and others.
He appealed to the government to facilitate processes to complete the stalled Akatsi Municipal Hospital project for the well-being of all.
On development, he reminded the government of its request for the construction and rehabilitation of key roads in the area.
These include Akatsi -Kpodzivi-Ave Dakpa road, Akatsi – Xavi- Suipe- Hatorgodo, Akatsi -Have- Dagbamatey- Avenorpeme, and parts of Akatsi town roads.
“These roads are arteries of development and social cohesion. I also appeal for the appointment of more sons and daughters of Avenor into leadership positions,” he added.
Torgbui Tali Gafatsi III, Chairman, Planning Committee, in a welcome address, said the festival had brought fond memories of time to reflect on achievements and set sights on new horizons.
“Avenor Tutudoza provides us with the perfect platform to reflect on our journey so far and to chart the course for an even brighter future for all the people of Avenor. Over the past eight years, the festival has grown into a hallmark of reaffirmation of our unity, culture, and collective vision for progress.”
Dr Abdul Rashid Pelpuo, Minister of Labour, Jobs and Employment, who witnessed the event, assured the people of Avenor that the government would not relent on its promises.
From infrastructure, health, education, roads, youth employment, and others, he said government remained committed to pushing the area forward.
He said through the effort of Mr Bernard Ahiafor, the youth would have their share of employment opportunities with time.
Several dignitaries, including Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister who were in attendance, pledged their unflinching support to the growth of the area.
There were donations from the Presidency, government officials, business entities, and individuals to aid the construction of a Traditional Council Secretariat and other development-related activities.
