Bolgatanga, Nov. 7, GNA – KologSoft, one of Ghana’s leading software development companies based in the Upper East Region, has unveiled an innovative educational Mobile Application dubbed, “KologSoft Kids” to make learning fun, interactive, and accessible for children.

The new Application is designed to transform early childhood learning by helping children aged three and above to learn to read, recognise letters, and pronounce words correctly through interactive sessions that use fun, visual, storytelling, and sound-based activities.

The Application, once downloaded, operates offline without displaying ads, allowing children to learn anywhere in the world, including the most remote communities in the country and beyond, without the need for internet connectivity.

Mr John Dok Kolog, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KologSoft, speaking at the launch, said the Application had been developed to make literacy learning accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for all children, especially those in areas where access to private tuition and internet services were limited.

“We created KologSoft Kids to make learning fun and effective. Through phonics, storytelling, and interactive exercises, children can learn to read at their own pace while enjoying every moment,” he said.

He explained that the App, deemed a social product, was free to use and combines phonics, vocabulary building, and storytelling, enabling children to explore letters, form words, and practice reading through guided, step-by-step lessons.

“The App’s colourful visuals and friendly voice prompts keep children engaged and motivated as they develop their reading and comprehension skills,” he added.

Mr Kolog emphasised that the development of KologSoft Kids was inspired by the growing need to provide low-cost, tech-based educational solutions that could reduce parents’ financial burdens and help develop children’s literacy at the foundational level.

“Many parents struggle to afford private tutors. This App provides an affordable alternative that can complement classroom learning while making children’s screen time more productive,” he emphasised.

Parents who had tried the App praised its innovation and impact.

Mr James Anam-bono, a parent, said the App had come at the right time, describing it as “a blessing for parents and children.”

“Before this Application, I had difficulty teaching my three-year-old son. But when I saw this Application being advertised, I quickly downloaded it and tried it with him, and it is so amazing.

“The visuals and pronunciation keep him glued, and now he chases me whenever I am home to learn and not the other way around,” he stated.

Madam Faustina Ayinga, a mother of two, said the Application had changed the way her children interact with technology.

“Instead of wasting time on mobile games, my kids now use the App to learn letters, words, and stories. I just tried it with them, and it is exciting to see them pronounce words correctly. It really keeps them engaged because of its interactive nature,” she shared.

Another parent, Mr Douglas Bugbil  Kolog, said he believes the App will play a major role in improving children’s literacy levels in Ghana.

“It’s simple, practical, and doesn’t need the internet once installed, which is beneficial to parents. I think every parent should get it. Our children will be well-equipped with vocabulary and confidence in reading,” he said.
