Accra, Nov. 27, GNA – Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs) in Ghana have been urged to deepen collaboration and share resources to scale up their philanthropic impact and contribute more effectively to national development.
The call was made at the Faith Impact Forum 2025, organised by World Vision Ghana in partnership with the Centre for Strategic Philanthropy and Social Investment (CESPSI) at Pentecost University.
Other partners include Compassion International, Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS), Catholic Relief Services, and the Christian Health Association of Ghana.
Mr Benjamin Sarbah, Faith and Development Manager at World Vision Ghana, said stronger partnerships among FBOs could unlock greater resource mobilisation for social initiatives.
“This platform is to exchange knowledge, share success stories, and develop strategies to scale up impact nationally,” Mr Sarbah noted, adding that World Vision was excited to spearhead efforts to unite FBOs for national development.
Delivering the keynote address, Rev. George Matey Okorley described FBOs as “custodians of values and architects of hope” despite global challenges such as climate instability.
“There is a moral mandate for us as FBOs to uphold humanity, dignity, and shared stewardship,” he said, stressing the need for FBOs to reposition themselves for greater social innovation and sustainable impact.
Mr Kobina Yeboah Okyere, the National Director of Compassion International, said the forum was very essential, especially to see what other organisations are doing in the area of child poverty, an area of concern for them.
“This forum is the first of its kind, and it has helped foster a collective effort in addressing issues and seeing how best we complement each other.
“So building this partnership will enable us to work effectively for the good of society and also achieve set targets,” he said.
Rev. Dr Micheal Armah, Acting Director of CESPSI – Pentecost University, urged FBOs to invest in research and policy advocacy to enhance visibility and effectiveness in philanthropy and development.
The forum, themed “Positioning FBO-PSIs as Strategic Co-Creators of Inclusive Development, Social Innovation, and Sustainable Impact,” highlighted the role of faith-based actors as strategic partners in addressing social challenges and driving inclusive growth.
