Lasting peace plea from PWDs in Nkwanta South

Dambai (O/R), Oct. 10, GNA – Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) of the Nkwanta South Municipality, have made a heartfelt appeal for lasting peace in their community. 

The plea was made during a ceremony where the Nkwanta south Assembly presented start-up items to over 100 PWDs, aimed at supporting their economic development. 

Mr Evans Boanya, the Chairman of PWDs in Nkwanta South, emphasised the need for peace negotiations to bring an end to the ongoing conflict. 

He urged the government and security agencies to reconsider the curfew hours imposed in the township to help restore normalcy. 

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Boanya highlighted the challenges faced by PWDs in the municipality, including loss of businesses and livelihoods due to the conflict. 

However, he called on authorities to take immediate steps to resolve the situation, saying that PWDs werecounting on them to bring peace to the area. 

Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, also urged the people of Nkwanta South to embrace peace, noting that the development of the Oti Region depends on the stability of the area.
