Accra, Oct 19, GNA – Ghana and India have pledged continued collaboration for mutual benefit, especially in tourism, creative arts, and entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the celebration of the 2025 IndiaFest held at the Accra Sports Stadium, Mr. Manish Gupta, the India High Commissioner to Ghana underscored the growing partnership between Ghana and India, describing it as one rooted in shared values, cultural exchange, and economic collaboration.
He said continued collaboration holds the key to future growth and development of both countries.
He also noted that the visit of Mr. Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister to Ghana was not only historic, but proof of renewed commitment between India and Ghana.


“Prime Minister Modi’s visit provided renewed momentum to bilateral relations and reinforced cooperation between both nations in areas including culture, trade, and technology,” he said.
Touching on the festival, the High Commissioner described it as a celebration of the enduring warmth between the two nations, and pledged the commission’s support for ongoing cultural and skills development initiatives.
“This is not just a festival but a celebration of the values we both cherish,” he said.


In her remarks, Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture said Ghana and India’s partnership extends beyond diplomacy, noting that Indian films, fashion, and cuisine have long become part of Ghana’s popular culture.
She said this cultural exchange has had economic benefits for both Ghana and India, deeply influencing social and cultural life.
“Films from Bollywood and Indian television dramas have influenced our fashion, textile, and culinary traditions,” she said.


Commending the Indian business community for its critical role in advancing Ghana’s tourism and hospitality industries, Madam Gomashie reaffirmed her ministry’s readiness to deepen partnerships that create jobs and promote innovation.

Featuring authentic cuisine, cultural exhibits, fashion shows, and various traditional and Bollywood performances, the festival is a cultural celebration that highlights Indian culture in Ghana.
The annual event which attracted a large audience and showcased the diversity of Indian heritage, also sought to strengthen the ties between Ghana and India.
