Accra, Sept. 6, GNA – Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, the General Secretary of the Church of Pentecost (COP), has urged the next generation to position themselves to be well nurtured for future leadership and service.
He said the youth must commit to learning from their mentors, demonstrate the willingness to grow, and pursue personal development with passion and eagerness.
Apostle Obuobi made the call at the media launch of the National All Leavers Summit (NALS) 2025 in Accra.
The event, organised by the Schools Outreach Ministry of the Church, Scripture Union (SU) Ghana, and the Pent Media Centre (PMC), is scheduled for September 20, 2025, on the theme: “Focusing, Guiding and Nurturing the Next Generation Today.”
The summit will bring together final-year students nationwide for mentorship, worship, and guidance as they prepare for the next phase of life.
“The theme brings to the fore the need to intentionally and deliberately mentor the young ones as we prepare them for tomorrow,” Apostle Obuobi said, adding that investing in the next generation required time, resources, and commitment.
He noted that leadership was about serving, protecting, and inspiring others, stressing the need to invest in the next generation’s faith and encourage them to shine brightly in the world.
Nurturing the next generation, Apostle Obuobi said, demanded collective efforts from parents, elders, communities, and the church.
“The responsibility extends beyond the family unit to the entire faith community. Parents and leaders must model godly character worth imitating, avoid hypocrisy, and exercise patience because young people will make mistakes,” he added.

Apostle Prof. Joseph Teye Buertey, Chairman of the Schools Outreach Ministry Committee, said the ministry sought to promote holistic discipleship and development that transformed the mind, heart, and behaviour based on kingdom values.
“As you move into the next phase of life, guide your actions with integrity and empathy, pursue your passions, care for your mental health, remain open to learning, and live a lifestyle that makes you an example to the world,” he urged the students.
Mr. Fred Tettey Amoako, Head of Publications at the PMC, said education was not merely the accumulation of facts but the shaping of character, vision, and courage to build a meaningful future.
“The future begins today through the decisions we make, the values we uphold, and the opportunities we create for the younger generation,” he noted.
“This summit is not only preparing students to pass exams but to pass the test of life, to walk in faith, character, and purpose.”
