Drobo (Bono), Sept. 19, GNA – Mrs Siata Watara, the Jaman South Municipal Chief Executive in the Bono Region has said the Assembly, is ready to facilitate the resumption of construction work on all abandoned projects in the Municipality.

She said to ensure this, the Assembly had recently completed the construction of the Anumgranu Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound which had been abandoned for years.

In an interview with the media at Drobo, the municipal capital, Mrs Watara expressed worry that the previous administration abandoned construction works on most of the projects initiated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when they took over political power in 2016.

Nonetheless, she said the Assembly and the government remained committed to completing and hand-over for use, all abandoned projects including those initiated by their predecessor.

Mrs Watara said the government had prioritised health and road infrastructure, hence the Assembly would facilitate works to ensure that deplorable major roads in the municipality were reshaped.

She said with improved road network, Jaman South would be opened for business growth and thereby spur rapid socio-economic development.

“We are also working hard to bring quality healthcare service to the doorstep of the people to eliminate the problem of accessing healthcare delivery in Jaman South,” she added.

Mrs Watara said it was the vision of the President John Dramani Mahama’s government to ensure that everybody in the municipality enjoyed easy access to essential healthcare services, to enhance their overall well-being and quality of life.

‎She said good sanitation and proper waste management remained essential to good health and urged the people to keep their surroundings clean at all times and also participate in the monthly clean-up exercises instituted by the assembly.

Mrs Watara explained that the monthly clean-up exercise was aligned with the National Sanitation Day, not only to promote a cleaner environment, but also fostered a sense of communalism in the minds of the people.
