Nsuansua (WN/R), Sept. 03, GNA – The Underground Department of the Asante Gold Corporation, has presented educational materials to pupils of Nsuansua and Anglo Basic schools in the Wiawso Municipality of the Western North Region.
Mr Stephen Asante Yamoah, General Manager of the Corporation, explained that the company as part of its policies directed each department to adopt a community within its catchment area and support them.
The underground department, thus, adopted the Nsuansua and Anglo communities to provide them with the needed support, he said.
Mr Yamoah said the company was committed to supporting the needs of communities within its catchment areas with emphasis on education, noting that it was only education that could help bring the needed transformational change.
He said the materials presented would help and encourage the pupils to develop interest in education.
The General Manager used the opportunity to advised parents to keep investing in their children’s education, by making it a priority so they could become useful to themselves and the society at large.
Nana Elluo Payin III, Chief of Nsuansua and Kyidomhene for Wiawso Traditional Council, lauded the company for their continuous support to the people in their catchment communities.
Mr Mensah Haruna, Headteacher of Nsuansua Basic school, on behalf of the schools, thanked the company for the presentation, saying it would motivate the pupils to have interest in education.
He, however, appealed to the company to help renovate the school’s block, and asked that more teachers should be posted to the school.
