Otiakrom-Shallom, E/R, Sept. 18, GNA – War leaders across the country have been urged to lay down their arms and pursue peace, as the nation grapples with rising tensions and divisions.
The appeal was made by Apostle Dr Kadmiel E.H Agbelenyo, the Leader and Founder of the Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation, during the annual Atonement Day ceremony held over the weekend at Shallom-Otiakrom, near Aburi in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern Region.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Apostle Dr Agbelenyo called on both political and religious leaders, as well as the general public, to reflect on their actions and seek reconciliation with Yahweh Quadosh Israel.
“As Ghana continues to confront social and political divisions, this serves as a spiritual reminder of the need for national repentance, unity, and peace,” the Leader said.
He stressed that God’s appointed day of atonement, the “10th Ethanim,” was a sacred opportunity each year for the congregation to seek divine forgiveness and healing for the nation.
“God’s love for mankind is above the heavens. If Yahweh Quadosh Israel were as wicked as Satan, He would not have instituted the Day of Atonement for the eradication of our religious, political and social transgressions,” he stated.
The Apostle urged members of his congregation to observe a one-day fast as part of their atonement rituals, in line with the scriptural mandate found in Ezekiel 45:16-17. This, he explained, was to supplement his efforts in interceding on their behalf.
Apostle Dr Agbelenyo warned that while individuals may reject the message of atonement, God’s judgment would be without grace and mercy for those who refuse to repent.
“Repent and present yourselves unto the High Priest on the Day of Atonement to be reconciled to Yahweh Quadosh Israel,” he admonished.
The Atonement Day ceremony, he noted, has long been a point of theological contention between Judaism and Christianity, particularly since the 16th century Reformation.
He highlighted that many Protestant churches have dismissed the relevance of the atonement practice, citing changes in the priesthood laws under the Messianic dispensation.
“However, the Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation maintains that the ceremony remains valid, as Yahshua (Jesus Christ) was ordained as the High Priest of the Messianic age after the order of Melchizedek (Genesis 14:17–20; Hebrews 7:7–12).”
“The only change is in the method of sacrifice. The animal sacrifices have been replaced by Christ, the Lamb of Yahweh,” Apostle Dr Agbelenyo explained, citing scriptural references from John 1:29, 35 and Matthew 26:26–28.”
The Apostel noted that only those who truly understood the prophetic revelations in Revelation 5:8–10 and 8:1–5 who could grasp the full significance of the Messianic atonement.
As Ghana continues to confront social and political divisions, Apostle Dr Agbelenyo’s message serves as a spiritual reminder of the need for national repentance, unity, and peace.
