Adaklu (V/R), Sept. 25, GNA-Mr. Kwame Governs Agbodza, the Minister of Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament (MP) for Adaklu, together with the Mr. Jerry Yaw Ameko, the District Chief Executive (DCE), have commissioned a newly constructed three-unit classroom block at Adaklu Kpeleho as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure in the district.
The facility, which forms part of the government’s education development agenda, is expected to enhance access to quality teaching and learning for pupils in the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ameko lamented the falling standards of education in the district compared to the national average.
He recalled a period when Adaklu performed strongly in examinations, stressing that new measures would be taken to restore those standards.

The DCE announced that the district would soon introduce a strict policy of “no reading, no promotion” to encourage pupils to take their studies seriously, explaining that the move was designed to ensure that children progressed with the right foundation for future success.
Mr. Ameko also urged officials of the Education Directorate to play their roles effectively in complementing government’s investments in school infrastructure and emphasised that infrastructure alone could not deliver results without dedicated supervision and quality teaching.
He revealed that, under the Reset Agenda of President John Dramani Mahama, all future classroom blocks to be built in Adaklu would come with teacher accommodation facilities.
This, he said, would improve teacher motivation and welfare, while also ensuring teacher retention in rural areas.
On other development projects, the DCE assured the people of Adaklu that road networks in the district would soon see significant improvement.
He disclosed that work had already commenced on the Adaklu Tsrefe–Waya–Keyime roads.

Mr. Ameko expressed appreciation to Mr. Agbodza, describing him as “a true and beloved son of Adaklu” whose unflinching support had brought progress to the district and pledged to continue collaborating with the MP to deliver more development to the people.
For his part, Mr. Agbodza reiterated his commitment to prioritising education in Adaklu, saying every child deserved access to decent classrooms and learning facilities.
He explained that improving education remained at the heart of the district’s development strategy.
The Roads and Highways Minister assured constituents that, beyond education, the government would continue to invest in infrastructure such as roads, water, and health facilities to improve living standards in the area.
He encouraged parents to complement the government’s efforts by supporting their children’s education and instilling discipline and commitment to learning at home.
The MP also praised teachers in the district for their sacrifices in difficult conditions, urging them to continue working hard as the government took steps to address their challenges.
Community leaders and residents present at the event expressed excitement about the new classroom block, describing it as a major step in addressing access, overcrowding and poor facilities that had affected learning in the area for years.
