Accra, Aug.11, GNA – Following the loss of some prominent lives in the recent helicopter crash, the Most Reverend Professor J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana has encouraged citizens to mourn, but not as without hope.
“For even in the valley of the shadow of death, we are assured of God’s abiding presence,” he said in a statement from the church to the Ghana News Agency.
The Church condoled with the President, the Government, bereaved families, and the entire nation, saying the tragedy had shown how fragile the nature of life.
“This national tragedy brings us face-to-face with the fragile nature of life, yet we are reminded that the God we serve is ‘a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). ”
The church prayed that the Lord, who was close to the broken-hearted, would uphold them with His peace.
“May this loss unite us in national solidarity and reflection, as we entrust the souls of the departed into the eternal rest of our Lord. Amen,” the statement added.
