Sofia, Sept 5 (BTA/GNA) – Bulgarian Farmers Union (BFU) Chair Georgi Stoyanov is visiting China as a member of a delegation that also includes other international participants, the BFU said in a press release on Saturday.
During the visit, Stoyanov is taking part in training sessions, lectures and seminars about the development of agriculture and the future of rural areas.
Key topics on the programme include policies to overcome poverty, rural revitalization, sustainable development, and the role of science and education in modern agriculture.
Stoyanov shared his impressions of the visit on social media, highlighting the scale of China’s approach to long-term planning. “There are moments when you realize that you are not simply attending another lecture, but are observing at close quarters the way a global power is building its future,” he wrote.
China’s experience shows that sustainable rural development is not limited to increasing agricultural production. An important part of the strategy is the creation of vibrant, modern and competitive local communities, Stoyanov said.
For the Bulgarian and other international representatives, the visit provides an opportunity to learn about a different model of organizing and managing rural areas, as well as practices that could form the basis for future exchanges of knowledge and experience.
“If we want to understand where the world is heading, we need to observe it without prejudice, ask questions and learn from good practices, regardless of where they come from. Because knowledge has no ideology. It has value,” the BFU leader said.
