Tarkwa (W/R), Aug. 8, GNA – The Coalition of Parents of Students in Private Institutions (COPOSIPI), a Non-Governmental Organization, has called on the state to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the helicopter crash that led to the death of eight persons.

The group said, “Getting clarity on what happened to the Z-9 Military helicopter matters a lot to Ghanaians”.

A statement signed by Mr Simon Gbene, the Executive Secretary of COPOSIPI, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Tarkwa, stressed that there should not be any attempt to cover up what occurred, the truth should be disclosed.

The group, also offered its deepest condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, Ghanaians, and the grieving families of the state men and security officers who died in line of duty.

“It’s really sad, especially considering someone like Dr Edward Omane Boamah, who was affable, had the potential to become a presidential candidate. His life was cut short but God knows what’s best,” the statement added.

The crash occurred on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, near Adansi Brofuyedru in the Adansi Akrofuom District in the Ashanti Region.

President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday night announced the setting up of an Investigative Inquiry Board to probe the fatal helicopter crash.
