Gbi-Kpoeta (V/R), Aug. 29, GNA – The Centre for Culture and Sustainable Development (CCSD), a community-based organisation, has organised a general health screening for members of the Gbi-Kpoeta community in the Volta Region.

The screening in collaboration with Live Pure Health, Accra, covered health conditions such as sugar level, blood pressure level, eye test, liver, kidney, prostate, malaria and typhoid.

Togbe Adom Dake X, the President of CCSD said the Organisation was also committed to promoting culture, sustainable development, environmental conservation and youth empowerment through various community-centered initiatives with a focal point on environmental sustainability.

He said the screening was organised to educate the community about their health and also help them to solve their health problems.

Togbe Dake noted that without good health the community members would not be able to carry out their daily routines.

He urged them to adhere to the education given them as well as medical advice and prescriptions.

Dr John Afedzi, a Nutritionist at the Live Pure Health Company told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said most health conditions resulted from what individuals consume.

He said diseases such as hypertension and diabetes could be suffered as a result irregular eating time and consumption of alcohol.

Dr Afedzi said the importance of health screening gave more education on ones body system hence the need for strict adherence to prescriptions and medical advice.

Mama Dakesi IV, the Vice President of CCSD, noted that there was the need for clean environment because being healthy also required that the environment especially surroundings were always kept neat.

She called on the community members to pay heed to all concerns relating to sanitation for their well-being.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Organisation for the exercise.
