Jinijini, (Bono), Aug. 27, GNA – Mr Dickson Kyere-Duah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum West Constituency in the Bono Region has inaugurated an office complex to bring parliamentary services closer and strengthen engagements the constituents.
The secretariat situated at Jinijini, the constituency capital, will collect and tackle the immediate needs and concerns of the people and facilitate the holistic development of the constituency.
Speaking at a short ceremony at Jinijini, Mr Kyere-Duah said the development of the area remained collective responsibility, asking the constituents to always feel free and share their concerns regardless of their political orientation.
It was attended by traditional and opinion leaders, constituency executives, religious and youth groups.
The MP said: “This is my official office; however, it’s also your space, platform, and an avenue to engage with me directly as your representative in Parliament so that together we can identify and tackle our emerging development challenges”.
Mr Kyere-Duah indicated that the establishment of the secretariat was in line with a broader vision to create and deepen a strong link between “myself and you the constituents” adding that “the office complex is designed to provide a one-stop center for parliamentary and developmental activities”.
He said: “It serves as a hub for documentation and community outreach to host stakeholder meetings as well as to coordinate social intervention programmes, including the newly established Berekum West Education Fund”.
Speaking at the ceremony, traditional leaders who graced highly commended the MP for the initiative. He emphasized that the office would enhance transparency, accountability, and accessibility of parliamentary work to ordinary citizens.
Mr Kyere-Duah said he was highly optimistic that the facility would not only bring Parliament closer to the people, but also serve as a rallying point for unity, dialogue, and progressive development of the constituency.
In an interview, some of the people commended the MP, describing the facility as a milestone in constituency service delivery and hoped that constituents would make good use of the secretariat by channeling their developmental concerns and ideas for the betterment of the people.
