Winneba (C/R), Aug 12, GNA- Ambassador of the Federation of Aboriginal Nations of Americas Trade and Commerce for Africa, Mr Stephen Kojo Sackey has expressed condolences to the Government of Ghana and the families affected by the recent helicopter crash that claimed the lives of government officials and military officers
He said the tragic passing of the eight gallant service men working assiduously for the betterment of Ghana, was a painful loss, not only to the bereaved families but to the entire nation.
In a consolation message on behalf of the Federation of the Aboriginal Nations of Americans (FANA), affiliated partners, and in his capacity as FANA’s Trade & Commerce Ambassador to Africa, Ambassador Sackey said the victims died in line of duty and must forever be remembered and honoured for their dedication, courage and true spirit of patriotism.
“Their sacrifice and dedication must remind us all, of the preciousness of life and the duty we owe at protecting and uplifting our beloved country, a call for unity, patriotism, and the end to galamsey”, he stated.
He noted that as the country mourned, it must come together in peace to console the President, bereaved families and the loved ones affected by the irreparable loss.
“As a country we must let this tragedy serve as a stark wake-up call, to compel us to confront the dangers that threaten our environment, security, and prosperity, particularly, illegal mining, known as galamsey activities which is not only endangering the health of our land and waterways but also the safety and future of all Ghanaians.”
He underscored the need for the nation to embrace patriotism not in words, but through commitment and selflessness to protect the heritage, safeguard the country’s natural resources and nurture it peace to thrive to ensure that the sacrifices made by these heroes were not in vain.
“May we find strength in our shared grief and resolve at honouring their memory through actions that promote the greater good of Ghana, may peace and comfort find us all during this difficult times”, he stated.
“We the entire Aboriginal Nations of Americans and affiliated partners pray for the Almighty grant the departed souls eternal rest. The Almighty God for whom we cry to in times of trouble, crisis and adversity, in Him we find refuge and strength”…
“Together let us honour our gallant heroes by building a safer, cleaner and more united Ghana” he added.
