University of Ghana Pensioners Association visit Aburi Garden

Accra, July 5, GNA – The University of Ghana Pensioners Association (UGPA) Legon, has visited Aburi Botanical Garden to acquaint itself with the various plants grown within the area.

About sixty members whose ages ranged between 60 and ninety 92 were in attendance.

Members were told that similar plants grown at the ABURI Botanical Garden were found at the University of Ghana’s Botanical Garden on Legon Campus supervised by the Botany Department of the University.

 However a Non-Govermental Organization,

known as Seguah Africa Initiative, led by Uriah Karikari, had a truly rewarding session on July 4, 2025 at the Aburi botanical garden with the Pensioners, where the members were guided through setting up WhatsApp Two-Step Verification.

The session was insightful and practical; by the end, most participants had successfully activated this important security feature on their devices.

This small but significant step helped to protect them from scammers and enhanced their confidence in using technology safely.

“Building digital literacy and trust is at the heart of what we do, and moments like this reminds us about how impactful it can be”.

 In addition to that,

Saguah Africa Initiative NGO which is located on the University Campus, sponsored the visit by refreshing the pensioners with snacks and lunch.
