Accra, July 15, GNA – The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has clarified its official name and acronym following public confusion about how it is referenced in the media and public discourse.
In a statement issued to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, the Ministry said: “We wish to state emphatically that the official and legally recognized name of the Ministry is: MINISTRY OF TOURISM, CULTURE AND CREATIVE ARTS (MoTCCA).”
The Ministry noted that it had observed inconsistent references to its name across various platforms, prompting the need for clarification.
It explained that the name reflects the Ministry’s renewed mandate to integrate the creative arts industry into Ghana’s cultural and tourism development agenda, and reinstates the original name adopted at its inception.
The Ministry urged the public, particularly media organisations, to take note of the clarification and consistently use the correct name in all official communications.
“We remain committed to promoting Ghana’s rich tourism, cultural heritage, and creative industries in line with the vision of national development and cultural pride,” the statement said.
