Accra, July 24, GNA – Parliament is scheduled to convene at 1200 hours on Thursday, according to Speaker Alban Bagbin.
The Minister of Finance will present a detailed report on revenue, providing insights into the current state of the economy, projections, and future plans.
“He will tell us the state of the economy when we took over in January this year, what has happened between January and today, and then the projections into the future,” Deputy Minister, Mr.Thomas Apem Darko revealed.
The Minister’s presentation is expected to offer a comprehensive narrative about the nation’s economic trajectory, shedding light on the government’s strategies for navigating challenges posed by inflation and other economic factors.
In a related development, the reintroduction of road tolls is expected to move forward once Parliament resumes, with a 21-sitting-day timeline for the bill to become law.
“This timeline suggests that the process may conclude by the end of the year,” Mr. Ampem Darko said.
However, in a surprise move, the Minority Caucus has announced plans to boycott the presentation of the 2025 mid-year budget review.
According to NPP MP Ekow Vincent Assafuah, the Minority will not participate in the presentation.
