Accra, June 5, GNA – Arla Foods Ghana, producers of Dano Milk, have launched a month-long initiative aimed at providing free milk to 42,000 senior high school students in the Central Region.
The initiative forms part of efforts to promote healthy living and good nutrition among the youth, a release copied to Ghana News Agency said on Thursday.
It was launched during the commemoration of this year’s World Milk Day at Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Senior High School in Cape Coast.
The ceremony, which brought to together students, teachers, and company staff, highlighted the role of nutrition in helping young people to learn, grow and achieve their dreams.
This year’s World Milk Day was themed: “Feed Life – Enabling Good Food Choices that Make Life Better.”
Mr Lawrence Pareson, Production Manager, Arla Foods, speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, said milk provided essential nutrients that supported growth, strengthened bones and contributed to overall well-being.
The theme of the 2026 World Milk Day, he noted, aligned with the company’s mission of making nutritious, high-quality dairy products accessible to consumers while encouraging healthier lifestyles.
Mr Pareson encouraged students to embrace nutritious foods as they worked towards their academic and personal goals, and commended teachers for their role in shaping lifelong healthy habits.
“Milk is more than just a drink. It is a rich source of nutrition that fuels potential, supports healthy development and helps communities to thrive,” he said.
Arla Foods also launched a fitness challenge involving 12 senior high schools across the Central Region, helping students to combine healthy eating with physical activity as part of a balanced lifestyle.
