Four Germans killed as small plane crashes in Austria

Vienna, July 5, (dpa/GNA) – Four Germans were killed when a small plane crashed in Austria, police said on Saturday.

It was not initially clear what type of aircraft was involved in the crash on Saturday afternoon near the town of Krimml, east of Innsbruck.

The plane took off from Oberschleissheim near Munich, police said. The identities and ages of the victims was initially unknown.

A police spokesman said the weather was good at the time of the accident.

The impact caused a fire at the scene of the accident.

The fire brigade said the plane came down in rough terrain, and the fire spread to the woods nearby.

Emergency responders from the area nearby were called out to help searc for people and extinguish the flames.

“It was a small forest fire,’ said a fire department spokesman.
