Nkwanta (O/R), Oct. 30, GNA-Mr Stephen Obikyenbi, the current Constituency Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nkwanta South Constituency of the Oti Region, has been appointed as the party’s Oti Regional Deputy Communications Officer.

The appointment marks a new chapter in his political journey within the party.

Mr Obikyenbi, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on his appointment, said hard work, loyalty, consistency, and dedication to party activities had contributed to his progress within the NPP.

He explained that he began working for the party at a very young age before reaching voting age and gradually rose through the ranks through his commitment and active participation in party activities.

He later served as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy (TESCON) at the university for two terms before becoming a Polling Station Youth Organiser.

He said in 2018, he was appointed Constituency Communications officer for Nkwanta South for the first time.

He subsequently continued in the role through later appointments and was elected to the position in the party’s 2026 constituency elections.

Mr Obikyenbi said his journey demonstrated that commitment and dedication to party work could lead to greater responsibilities.

He, however, noted that he could not hold two positions within the party simultaneously.

He said he was yet to officially resign as the Constituency Communications officer to enable him to serve at the regional level.

He urged the youth of the party to emulate his example by remaining loyal, working hard, and demonstrating consistency in their service to the NPP.

According to him, young party members must conduct themselves responsibly, contribute meaningfully to party activities, and do what is right, stressing that hard work and dedication eventually pay off.

His appointment is expected to see him contribute to the NPP’s communication activities across the region starting November 2, 2026.
