Assin Nsuta welcomes new Queen Mother

Assin Nsuta (C/R), July 17, GNA- A 59-year-old entrepreneur, has been installed as the Queen Mother of Assin Nsuta in the Assin South District of the Central Region at a colourful ceremony. 

Nana Ampofowaa Mpradwoa Yeboa II, known in private life as Mrs Cornelia Mary Yeboa Boateng and Benkumhemaa of the Apimanim Traditional Area, was formally introduced and accepted by all amidst drumming and dancing. 

Speaking at her coronation, she expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for the honour done her and promised to bring about the needed change and restore Assin Nsuta to its formal glory. 

The queen mother touched on four thematic areas she would do for the community; namely education, grooming, vocational and skills training and empowerment and advocacy. 

Explaining further, on education, she said the girl child should have access to quality inclusive education, supporting their academic and social success while addressing barriers such as child marriages, pregnancies during schooling and poverty. 

On upbringing, she said, she would promote safe loving environment for girls by educating their families and the community on equal care, protection from harmful practices and building confidence and resilience from an early age. 

For vocational and skills training, she would provide practical training in the field of technology, agriculture and business to prepare girls for employment and entrepreneurship, fostering financial independent and community upliftment. 

On empowerment and advocacy, the queen mother said, she would equip girls with knowledge on their rights and encourage active participation in decision making and nurture future leaders who could challenge poverty and inequality. 

Nana Yeboa said she would collaborate with the Chief and queen mothers of  Apimanim Traditional Area for the development of Nsutaman. 

Nana Yeboa further admonished the people to eschew all forms of negative behaviours that undermine development, promising to work hand in hand with all manner of persons to push forward the right agenda for the community.
