Tema, June 27, GNA – Mr. Isaac Ashai Odamtten, the Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency, in collaboration with the Tema Metro Education Directorate, has inaugurated an Information and Communication Technology [ICT] laboratory for the Twedaase Junior High School to enhance digital literacy among students.
Mr. Odamtten noted that the initiative was a positive development for the community and signifies his commitment to enhancing educational resources and promoting literacy in the community.
He acknowledged the dedication of the students towards learning, stating that, “When I was like you, I never liked school; I was always loitering about.”
He assured the students of his commitment towards them and the support from President John Dramani Mahama for education, emphasising the importance of computer literacy.
Mrs. Bernice Ofori, the Tema Metro Education Director, commended the MP for the initiative and his vision to improve education in the area, especially ICT, revealing that the MP has additionally provided an ICT facilitator for the facility.
She appealed for a projector to facilitate the teaching of ICT in the school while urging the students to maximise the benefit of ICT in their studies.
Mrs. Rebecca Yaa Menssima Pobee, the Headmistress of Twedaase JHS commended the MP for the gesture, reiterating how it would impact positively on the school’s teaching and learning activities.
In a heartfelt display of gratitude, the students recited a poem expressing their appreciation towards the MP, highlighting the transformative impact of the new computer on their educational journey.
