Sefwi-Wiawso (WN/R), June 26, GNA – Pastor Elijah Kofi Asante, the Sefwi-Wiawso District Pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), in the Western North Region has urged Ghanaians to embrace the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving service to ensure national unity.

According to him, the nation needed God’s presence to thrive and lauded the government for the initiative.

He, however, stated that prayers alone could not bring the needed development because success was divine intervention and needed human efforts to materialise.

Pastor Asante said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the launch of the district’s prayer conference at the Wiawso Central SDA Church.

The launch was on the theme: “Heart lift burdens shifted encountering God’s power in prayer.”

He further urged the leadership of the country to also implement policies and programmes that would promote and improve upon the living standards of the people.

The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving service is slated for July 1, 2025.
