Ghana is blessed, needs to be thankful to God – Sam Korankye Ankrah

Accra, June 12, GNA – Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah, Founder and Apostle General of Royalhouse Chapel International, has called on Ghanaians to be thankful to God for His continuous blessing upon the country.

He said despite a highly acrimonious election, Ghana had witnessed a peaceful transition of power from one government to another, for which reason it was essential to give much thanks to God.

Apostle General Ankrah was speaking during a courtesy call by the planning committee of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving to introduce the committee members to him and formally invite him to grace the occasion.

The committee also visited Mrs. Fulera Limman, Wife of Former President Hilla Limann, and Reverend Dr. Ebenezer Markwei, General Overseer of Living Streams International to also invite them formally.

The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is designed to bring together Christians, Muslims, and other religious groups together for a common purpose, on the theme: “Reflect, Reset, and Renew for National Prosperity.”

The Christian segment of the programme will be held at the forecourt of the State House from 0800 hours to 1000 hours, followed by Muslim prayers at the National Mosque from 1230 hours to 1400 hours.

Apostle General Ankrah said Ghana stood out as a nation where Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths came together in unity to thank one God.

“This spirit of harmony is a profound blessing, and a powerful reason for gratitude. Dedicating 1st July as a day to honor God’s goodness is both meaningful and worthy of celebration,” he added.

He said Ghana was indeed a blessed nation, and that blessed was the nation whose God is the Lord, indicating that when God is acknowledged as our Lord, it embodies the unity described in the scriptures.

Apostle General Ankrah said the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, with national unity symbolised a form of strength and spiritual covering upon the President.

“When the President is anointed and guided, it provides the foundation for effective leadership and the well-being of the entire nation”

“Our nation will prosper, know peace, and shall be called the oasis of democracy because you and I are coming together to unite, to pray, and to thank God,” he stressed.

Apostle General Ankrah, on behalf of the executives of the Royalhouse Chapel International supported the committee with a sum of GHS 50,000.

Reverend Dr. Ebenezer Markwei, General Overseer of Living Streams International, said what was unfolding in Ghana in recent times, was not a matter of chance, as some may believe, but part of a divinely orchestrated plan.

He said the act of giving thanks had become increasingly neglected in many areas of our lives, a trend that should not be the case.

“For once, let heaven hear the voice of the whole Ghana saying, thank you, in whatever way we can say it, it is now time for us to rise up above this partisan politics that divides this nation, that hurts us and that prevents progress,” he added.

Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the Chairperson of the committee, said the national event would be celebrated simultaneously across all 16 regions and 266 districts.

He said Ghana emerged as a beacon of hope in a turbulent sub-region, and that despite recurring tensions during elections, the nation emerged stronger, earning a reputation for democratic stability across West Africa.

The committee chair cautioned against the wearing of any political party attire to the event, rather, the attire could be white, celebratory, or featured national colors.
