Accra, June 13, GNA- Mr Christian Tetteh Badger, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Okaikwei North, has advised the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates to eschew examination malpractices and approach examinations with integrity and confidence.
“Don’t be dismayed. Be courageous. Read the questions carefully, understand them, and apply wisdom. When you finish, read over your answers. Avoid any form of malpractice. Approach the exams with integrity and confidence. God is with you; you will pass,” the MCE said during a monitoring tour of some 2025 BECE centres within the municipality, a statement copied to the GNA said on Friday.
Mr. Badger, who is also an educationist, emphasized that BECE presents a critical opportunity for students to secure a brighter future.
He reiterated that the vision of President John Dramani Mahama was to ensure a malpractice-free examination process, adding, “maintaining quality in education should never be compromised for quantity.”
Quoting Joshua 7:9 during his interactions with candidates, the MCE encouraged the students that: “Make yourselves proud; make your teachers proud; make Okaikwei North proud by achieving the best in the BECE results.”
He noted that the performance of the candidates would significantly impact the quality of the municipality’s human resource base in the future.
Mr. Francis K. Mensah, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), who was part of the tour also encouraged the candidates to exhibit their best in the exams.
Mrs. Cynthia Aboni, the Municipal Director of Education, advised the candidates against exam misconduct, particularly the use of mobile phones during the examination.
A total of 2,913 candidates are participating in the 2025 BECE in Okaikwei North.
This includes 1,395 males and 1,518 females.
Examination centres visited included: Achimota Basic II School; Achimota Compound B; Nii Okine Primary and JHS; St. Charles Lwanga Roman Catholic School; Tesano Cluster of Schools; Fadama Cluster of Schools; Mizpah International School and Apenkwa Presbyterian School.
The monitoring team also included Mr Salifu Seidu, the Deputy Director of Administration, Mr Daniel Dzadey, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, and officers from the National Intelligence Bureau.
