12 Buffs that will help you earn more gold with professions in World of Warcraft

Accra, June 18 – Professions have long become one of the steadiest and most reliable ways to make WoW gold. No matter what class you run or how you like to spend your time in the game, you can always find a profession to suit your playstyle—and line your pockets with some shiny coins. But what you may not have known is that there actually are certain things that can massively boost your gold gains through professions.

Wanna know what those are? Then tune in as we walk you through 12 super useful buffs that can help you gather faster, craft smarter, and make way more gold with a lot less grind.

Phial of Truesight

This one’s probably one of the most well-known consumables for gatherers. Phial of Truesight boosts your Perception and allows you to spot camouflaged nodes for 30 minutes, increasing your node finds by around 15-20% and also giving you better chances to collect higher-quality resources.

Phial of Bountiful Seasons

Depending on the in-game calendar, Phial of Bountiful Seasons buffs either Finesse in the summer or Resourcefulness in the winter, which makes it useful for both crafters and gatherers at different times of the year.

Weaver’s Tutelage and Weaver’s Prodigy Buffs

If you align yourself with the Severed Threads faction and build up your reputation with The Weaver, you’ll unlock special buffs for Crafting and Gathering Speed. Once you hit the Collaborator standing at Renown 5, you’ll get Weaver’s Tutelage with a 15% speed increase. Push that to Renown 7 and you’ll unlock Weaver’s Prodigy, bumping that bonus up to 30%.

Reping up with the faction is not hard at all, while the buff you get is extremely useful, saving you tons of time, especially if you’re mass-crafting or going hard on gathering routes.

Aerated Phial of Quick Hands

Originally introduced in Dragonflight, this phial is still a fantastic choice in The War Within. When you use a max-rank version, it boosts your Crafting Speed by 30% for 30 minutes. Just like with other phial buffs, you can chain them endlessly by drinking a new one before the current buff runs out.

Phial of Concentrated Ingenuity

This consumable increases your Ingenuity, giving you a better chance to recover the Concentration you spent. Concentration points are used to improve the quality of your crafts, and even though they’re automatically replenished over time, it’s still a nice thing to have some extra refunds.

Phial of Enhanced Ambidexterity

Pop one of these little potions and you’ll get a well-rounded buff to both Crafting Speed and Deftness, anywhere from 5% to 15%, depending on the phial’s rank. Like most phials, this one is crafted by alchemists, so if you’ve got a character with the right recipe, you can make it yourself. If not, no worries, as there always are plenty of these on the Auction House.

Darkmoon Firewater

This consumable boosts your gathering speed by 15% for a full hour, letting you hit more nodes in less time, which, of course, means more mats and more gold. You can buy this item from the Darkmoon Faire vendors or grab a bunch from the Auction House. They’re pretty cheap, stack easily, and are totally worth every coin you spend.

Ironclaw Razorstone

This blacksmith-crafted consumable sharpens your gathering tool and gives you a solid +75 Finesse buff for two hours. That extra Finesse means you’ll get more materials per node and earn much more gold than you normally would in a two-hour session!

Sky Golem

Sky Golem is a special engineering-crafted flying mount that lets you gather resources without dismounting. You can just fly around the map, pick herbs on the go, and never lose time landing or remounting!

Even though this item doesn’t increase any of your stats, it’s still a huge boost in terms of convenience and efficiency. You’ll save tons of time just by skipping the whole “land, gather, mount up again” routine, which is especially useful if you’re not a Druid or if you haven’t got the special Herbalism spec perk (we’ll talk more about that in the specialization section later).

Profession-Specific Equipment

Profession gear doesn’t just bump up your base skill; it also gives powerful bonuses to your secondary gathering and crafting abilities.

For example, if you’re a miner, things like Proficient Pickaxe or Miner’s Aqirite Hoard can raise your Perception, Finesse, and Deftness; Herbalists might use a Gardener’s Basket to boost Finesse; and Fishermen can equip Aqirite Fisherfriend to improve their Perception. And for crafters, there’s plenty of gear like the Artisan Blacksmith’s Hammer (Blacksmithing), Artisan Alchemist’s Robe (Alchemy), or the Inscribed Rolling Pin (Cooking) that also give you profession stat buffs and massively improve your gold gains.

If you’ve got the right profession and the recipe unlocked, you can craft these items yourself. Otherwise, you can always find a piece you need at the Auction House.

Most of this gear comes in green and blue versions. Blues obviously have better stats, but they can also be quite pricey, so if you’re just starting out or watching your gold, you can just stick to the greens—they’re still super helpful and totally worth picking up.

Profession Tool Enchants

Did you know that you can enchant your profession tools for extra stat bonuses? By using Algari Enchantments, you can add more gathering and crafting buffs to your gear to improve it even further. These items are crafted by enchanters and usually follow the same naming pattern: Enchant Tool – Algari [Stat], like Algari Perception, Algari Finesse, etc.

Profession Specializations

Profession specs work as talent-like trees where you spend Knowledge Points to unlock perks and bonuses for your chosen gathering or crafting profession.

Take Skinning, for example. It has a spec called Harvesting, which focuses on collecting rare materials. There’s a sub-tree inside it called Trophy Taking that boosts your Perception, and if you max out this ring, you’ll get a juicy +180 Perception, plus pick up some extra boosts to Deftness and Finesse along the way.

Or let’s say you’re into Herbalism. Speccing into Botany and dumping all 40 points into the top ring will allow you to gather resources while mounted. And as you level it up, you’ll still be getting small boosts to Finesse, Deftness, and Perception at certain ranks.

The best part about this system is that you’re not locked into just one spec tree. You can work on all of them as long as you have the resources. It won’t be easy, though, as Knowledge Points are rather hard to come by and you only get a limited amount each week. So it may be smarter to focus on a couple of specs that are more profitable to your particular needs first, and then, if you have those extra points, invest in other sub-trees for even more profits.

There’s honestly a ton to dig into with profession specs, so we highly recommend checking out a dedicated guide or two before you start spending points.
