Walewale (NE/R), May 15, GNA – LifeNet International, a Christian non-government organisation committed to transforming healthcare across Africa, has provided five essential hospital beds Our Lady of Rocio Catholic Health Centre at Walewale.

The support was to address a critical need within the newly commissioned maternity unit of the hospital’s new Theatre Block, which had been vacant since its construction in March, this year.

It would also enable Our Lady of Rocio Health Centre to fully operationalise its expanded maternity services to improve upon saving lives.

Mr. Idris Buabeng, Country Director of LifeNet International, who handed over the hospital beds to the facility in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region, said the organisation was dedicated to providing tangible resources that directly impacted patients’ care.

He emphasised that, “A hospital bed represents more than just a piece of furniture where patients sleep. The beds serve as a place of healing, comfort, and hope of surviving from their sickness.”

He said through these partnerships, LifeNet International aimed to strengthen healthcare systems and improve health outcomes for underserved communities by facilitating access to quality and compassionate care.

Reverend Sister Mary Asamoah, Facility Manager, Our Lady of Rocio Catholic Health Centre, who received the donation on behalf of the hospital, highlighted its profound impact on patient care.

She said: “Our Lady of Rocio Catholic Health Centre appreciates the partnership of LifeNet International, which began just a years ago but has tremendous impact on both staff and management.”

She assured the benefactor that the beds would be utilised effectively and properly maintained.

The Reverend said further: “These new beds are a new beginning for our maternity ward as there were no beds in the new maternity unit for clients to use, and they will significantly improve our ability to provide adequate care for patients.”
