Aflao (V/R), Aug. 10, GNA – Mr William Nyatepe Dzatabu has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency, outlining a comprehensive strategy to strengthen the party’s communication front.
Mr Dzatabu, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said his decision was backed by years of experience in party communication and a strong desire to improve coordination, efficiency, and grassroots engagement.
He currently serves as the Aflao Wego Zonal Communications Officer and has been a Branch Communications Officer for 12 years, as well as an active member of the Ketu South Constituency Communications Team.
He was also part of the party’s 2024 campaign team, where he contributed to research and communication efforts.
Mr Dzatabu said his vision was anchored on collaboration with constituency executives and stakeholders to build a more structured, inclusive, and results-oriented communication system.
He said as part of his plans, he intended to assess the current communication structure to identify gaps and build on existing strengths, while introducing clear, measurable, and time-bound action plans to guide operations.
He emphasised the importance of understanding target audiences and adapting communication strategies to suit different contexts, noting that effective messaging must be tailored to resonate with specific groups.
Mr Dzatabu also pledged to organise regular capacity-building workshops for party communicators to enhance their skills and improve message delivery across all levels.
On welfare, he promised to advocate improved conditions and logistical support for communicators, including serial callers, and revive initiatives aimed at supporting their well-being.
He further outlined plans to strengthen rural communication by utilising community information centres to disseminate the party’s policies, programmes, and achievements to grassroots communities.
Mr Dzatabu said he would introduce structured weekly meetings, one-on-one engagements, and monitoring systems to track communication performance, ensure message consistency, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
He also intends to establish a monitoring team to follow radio discussions and assess the effectiveness of party representation on media platforms.
To expand the party’s visibility, he pledged to support communicators in securing representation on regional and national media platforms, while also extending outreach to market centres within the constituency.
Mr Dzatabu highlighted his commitment to inclusivity, particularly encouraging the participation of women and young communicators, including serial callers, in the constituency communication team.
He assured that all five zones within the constituency would have fair representation based on merit to ensure balanced participation and effective coordination.
Mr Dzatabu expressed confidence that his experience and strategic approach would contribute to strengthening the NDC’s communication machinery and enhancing its engagement with party members and the electorate.
