Keta (VR), May 28, GNA – The Tertiary Education Consulting Unit of Kekeli Consult-Keta, has organised Higher Education Fair and Career Development Seminar for final year students in senior high and technical schools across the Volta Region.
The students were equipped with knowledge of programmes offered at various tertiary institutions and associated job opportunities.
Mr Gilbert Korbla Keklie, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Consult, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said that the seminar also covered available scholarship packages at various tertiary institutions and provided students with valuable information to make informed decisions about their future.
“The students are also given the opportunity to interact with representatives from various tertiary institutions, know more about what courses to offer to match their future potential,” he said.
He explained that a total of 8,227 final year students in various districts including Ketu South, Keta Municipal, Anloga District, South Tongu, Central Tongu, and Ho Municipal, participated in the seminar, which was aimed at putting students on the rightful paths to make informed choices in future.
He commended and expressed gratitude to the Ghana Education Service, Volta Region, Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), and some school managements and staff for their interest in the initiative with various support and participation which were instrumental in the success of the seminar.
“We move from school to school, and the seminar is aimed at empowering students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about their future. The students are able to explore various career options and learn about the programmes offered at tertiary institutions.”
Mr Keklie said that the seminar highlighted the various career opportunities available to students after completing their tertiary education and the students were informed about the job prospects and skills required for different careers, enabling them to make informed decisions.
He said that representatives from various tertiary institutions who attended the seminar provided students with valuable insights into the programmes offered at their institutions while students were provided the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on various issues.
He said the seminar had a significant impact on the students with a better understanding of their career options and the opportunities available to empower them to make informed decisions about the future and take control of their careers.
Some beneficiary students GNA engaged expressed gratitude to Kekeli Consult-Keta and the CEO for the successful Career Development Seminar which provided the platform for all students to gather knowledge about valuable insights of career options and opportunities which would have a lasting impact on them.
