Accra, May 21, GNA – The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has advised the public to contact its emergency hotlines for rescue and evacuation assistance during incidents of flooding.
The hotlines are 0291713235, 0299340383, 0299340643, 0299340998, 0302772446, 0302779637, 0303959561, and the national emergency number 112.
Mr. Desmond Ackah, Head of Public Relations, in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the advisory follows Sunday’s heavy downpour, which affected parts of Accra, including Adenta and East Legon.
The rains left communities submerged, with residents stranded and a death toll of five.
The GNFS rescue teams are on alert and prepared to respond to emergencies.
It cautioned against driving or walking through rising waters, stating: “If trapped, call us immediately on 112 / 0302772446 / 0299340383.”
