Adaklu Kodzobi (V/R), May 31, GNA – The Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM) of Church of Pentecost Friday donated sporting items valued at 10,000 Ghana Cedis to five basic schools from the Ho Municipality and Adaklu district.

The beneficiary schools which received a set of jerseys and two footballs each were Ziavi Dzogbe basic school from the Ho Municipality and Adaklu Kodzobi, Adaklu Goefe, Adaklu Dave and Adaklu Kpogadzi basic schools from the Adaklu district.

Pastor Frank Tandoh, National Coordinator of SOM, speaking at the ceremony, stated that the Church of Pentecost was more concerned in inculcating strong values into the younger ones.

He said, as part of its vision, the Church was partnering with the Ghana Education Service to work together for the holistic development of learners in basic schools.

Pastor Tandoh noted that “our vision is to win students and pupils at all levels for Christ and possess the campuses and schools for the Lord.”

He said this aligned with the Church’s larger “possessing the nations” agenda aiming to transform society through the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.

The Coordinator stated that the mandate was also to feel the needs of communities and respond to them.

He said sporting activities could also be used to bring the young ones together and by so doing preach Christ to them.

Pastor Tandoh said if the younger ones were imbibed with Christ like values they could transform society positively in their adulthood.

“We want the young ones today to be the change agents tomorrow, those who will influence and win society for Christ,” he stated.

He entreated heads of the beneficiary schools not to use the items only for games and entertainment but as a tool for drawing their pupils closer to Christ.

Togbe Dzegblade IV, Chief of Adaklu Kodzobi, said he was overwhelmed by the gesture of the Church and called on others to emulate them by providing not only the spiritual needs of their members but also the physical ones.

He reiterated his commitment to the growth and development of the community, saying he was ready to partner churches, NGOs, and investors to develop the community.

Mr. Charles Kugbeadzor, Headteacher of Adaklu Kodzobi basic school, on behalf of the heads of the beneficiary schools, thanked SOM and the Church for the donation and pledged to use the sporting activities to get the pupils closer to Christ.
