Twedie (Ash), May 21, GNA – Mrs. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, the newly appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma, has officially assumed office with a familiarisation tour across key institutions within the district.
The tour marked her first official assignment since her confirmation last week.
She visited some public institutions including the Twedie Government Hospital, Twedie Police Station, Foase District Police Station, and the Bebu Ambulance Bay, among others.
At the Twedie Government Hospital, the DCE expressed concern over the hospital’s lack of a reliable water supply and modern digital systems and assured staff of her commitment to addressing the pressing needs, emphasising that improving healthcare infrastructure was critical to her administration’s goals.
During her interactions with personnel at the various institutions, Mrs. Asamoah underscored the importance of first-hand engagement in understanding the challenges confronting public service delivery.
She said true leadership begins with listening and observing, adding that her aim was to support and uplift the vital services as part of the collective development agenda she promised to pursue after her confirmation as DCE.
Security agencies in the district highlighted several operational challenges, which the DCE pledged to address.
She lauded their dedication to maintaining peace and order and commended their efforts during her confirmation process.

According to her, emergency and security personnel are the unsung heroes in communities and assured them of the government’s commitment to ensure they were adequately resourced to perform their duties effectively.
Later at the District Assembly office, Mrs. Asamoah met the management and staff, outlining her vision for inclusive, transparent, and accountable administration.
She called for unity and collaboration in achieving shared development goals to build a better and safer Atwima Kwanwoma together.
“I am committed to leading with transparency, mutual respect, and responsiveness,” she assured.
On revenue mobilisation, she urged the assembly to ensure all collections were properly accounted for to boost local development initiatives and emphasised the need for discipline, punctuality, and dedication among staff, warning that lateness and absenteeism would not be tolerated under her leadership.
Mrs. Asamoah also revealed her intention to collaborate with the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Kofi Amankwah-Manu, to complete the official process of gazetting the district’s municipal status.
Madam Eunice Korankye, the District Coordinating Director, welcomed the DCE’s approach and pledged the cooperation of staff towards the district’s progress.
