Kumasi, May 6, GNA – Agri Eye Consult, an agricultural consultancy firm based in Ghana, is set to convene academia, industry players and policy makers to explore strategies to harness agricultural research work to drive national development.

The maiden programme dubbed, “Agricultural Researchers-Investors’ Summit”, scheduled to take place in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region would also discuss issues targeted at boosting food system resilience and job creation.

It will be held on the 26th-27th June 2025 under the theme “Bridging Innovation and Investment for a Resilient Agrifuture in Ghana”.

Mr. Richmond Frimpong, Chief Executive Officer, Agri Eye Consult, speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, said that groundbreaking research must not sit on shelves or underutilised while entrepreneurs and investors struggled to find innovative solutions to scale up and sustain agri-business ventures.

He said the summit seeks to bridge the gap between researchers, industry and academia by providing a common platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

It is being put together by Agri Eye Consult in partnership with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research -Crops Research Institute (CSIR-CRI), Faculty of Agriculture at the Kwame University of Science and Technology and the Ghana Agricultural and Rural Development Journalists Association (GARDJA).

Mr. Frimpong said Ghana, like many countries in sub-Saharan Africa, could boast of strong tradition of academic excellence and scientific research, especially in agriculture and natural resources, but persistent gap between research institutions and industries remained a challenge.

According to him, there was a pool of Ghanaian research that had the potential to revolutionise seed systems, improve soil health, enhance postharvest value chains, optimise irrigation, and promote climate-smart farming.

“What is missing is a structured, intentional platform that connects researchers with investors, individuals and institutions who are ready to fund, scale, and support the deployment of these innovations,” he pointed out.

The summit, which is designed to break down silos, build bridges, and foster a new ecosystem where ideas are transformed into actions emerges as a timely intervention.
