Accra, Feb. 4, GNA – The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mrs. Maame Efua Sekyi Aidoo Houadjeto, who was recently appointed by President John Dramani Mahama.
She was warmly received by the former CEO, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, alongside Deputy CEOs, Mr. Ekow Sampson and Mr. Ben Anane Nsiah. Mrs. Houadjeto succeeds Mr. Agyeman, who resigned after eight years of distinguished leadership.
In a brief meeting with the management and staff of the Authority, Mrs. Houadjeto expressed her gratitude for the warm reception, noting that she was honored to lead the GTA at such a pivotal moment.
She acknowledged the Authority’s rich history in promoting Ghana as a premier travel and tourism destination and ensuring industry excellence.

Mrs. Houadjeto also shared her excitement about working with the talented team to further enhance the Authority’s global impact in the tourism sector.
She emphasized her commitment to promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, urging the management and staff to collaborate effectively as a team to drive the growth and development of the country’s tourism industry.
“I will focus on expanding and strengthening industry collaborations while advocating for sustainable tourism initiatives in my new role and commit to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity within the organization,” she said.
Mrs. Houadjeto brings extensive experience in the tourism and hospitality industry to her new role.
She is the founder and former CEO of Image Consortium Group, an event management company, and has served as Managing Director and Creative Director of IE Design.

Mrs. Houadjeto held the position of General Manager at MPlaza Hotel and worked as the Head of Client Service at Charter House Productions, along with roles in several media and marketing agencies.
In response, the management and staff of the GTA assured her of their support and commitment to helping her achieve the government’s objectives for the growth and development of the tourism sector.
