Accra, Feb. 3, GNA – Ghana Grows Program has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA) to equip the skills of hairdressers and beauticians across rhe country.
The collaborative initiative is to create sustainable employment opportunities for young people, particularly women and persons with disabilities in various vocational fields, including the beauty and hairdressing industry.
A news brief from the partners said Mrs Comfort Ocran, Executive Director of the Springboard Road Show Foundation, emphasised the initiative’s significance, saying, “through Ghana Grows, we are committed to empowering young people with not just technical expertise but also business and entrepreneurial skills”.
She said the partnership with GHABA was an opportunity to extend the Foundation’s impact in the vocational sector and ensure that hairdressers and beauticians had the necessary tools to succeed in today’s evolving market.
The brief said under the agreement, GHABA members would benefit from specialised training programmes, mentorship sessions, and career, development resources.

It also said the partnership would offer psychosocial support, financial literacy training, and digital marketing skills, enabling professionals in the beauty industry to modernise their businesses and stay competitive.
Mrs Tina Offei Yirenkyi, National President of GHABA, welcomed the collaboration, saying: “We are excited to partner with Ghana Grows to help our members enhance their craft and expand their opportunities. This initiative will be transformational for many in our industry.”
The Ghana Grows Program is an initiative of the Mastercard Foundation, implemented by a consortium led by the Springboard Road Show Foundation.
