Sofia, July 9 (BTA/GNA) – President Rumen Radev and outgoing Prime Minister Kiril Petkov greeted on Saturday the Bulgarian Muslim community on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The head of State extends his wishes for health, peace and understanding, expressing his belief that the days of the big holiday will once again give a reason to be good, compassionate and show solidarity with all in need of support, the President’s press secretariat reported on Saturday.
Radev noted that Eid al-Adha is a reason to observe the traditional for the Bulgarian people religious tolerance, understanding and respect. The holiday is the source of shared joy from its celebration with close family, friends and neighbours, the head of State told the Muslim community in his address.
Petkov extended his wishes for health and well-being to the Bulgarian Muslims, the Council of Ministers reported. “This holiday is a good occasion to reconfirm the key role of respect, compassion and understanding between people for the sake of peace and our society’s prosperity,” the Prime Minister is quoted as saying.
