UDS SRC holds entrepreneurship, leadership seminar

Nyankpala (N/R), June 21, GNA – The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Nyankpala Campus, has organised a seminar to train students on leadership and entrepreneural skills.

The event, which formed part of the SRC Week celebration, was on the theme: “Unearthing the Entrepreneurial and Leadership Potentials of the Student: A Drive to National Development.”

It was to enlighten students on leadership and entrepreneurial skills to combine theory with practical knowledge to earn a living and become a better person.

Mr Abdul Hayi Moomen, Head of University Relations, UDS, who spoke during the event at Nyankpala in the Tolon District, advised students to improve their self-esteem by building their confidence and abilities to take leadership roles in society.

He encouraged the youth to prepare themselves for leadership positions instead of adults taking over all the time.

He indicated that the youth should have model behaviour in their communities, which would empower them to become good leaders.

Mr Isaac Kanmun, Sales and Marketing Director Bel-Aqua GH, Tamale urged students to start savings from school to enhance their income to establish their own businesses after school.

He called for the empowerment of the youth to develop their skills to become entrepreneurs to reduce unemployment in the county.
