Ankaase (Ash), Dec. 27, GNA – Dr. Kofi Kyei Sarfo, a philanthropist, has distributed 750 packaged foods to children at Ankaase in the Afigya Kwabre South District.

The gesture is part of a measure to put smiles on the faces of children who are known to love Christmas worldwide.

He said most rural communities, including Ankaase, had a pool of children who were not fortunate to enjoy hearty meals even once in a day.

It was, therefore, very necessary for individuals and groups to prioritize extending help in the form of food to such kids.

Dr. Sarfo, who is a Medical Director at Vista Associates in the United States, said good nutrition was paramount in the upbringing of children and urged parents to feed children well.

He said community welfare was a priority, adding, together his family had earlier donated 50 sets of classroom furniture to basic schools in Ankaase.

Again, he indicated that the family was in the process of building a community senior high school to help children from disadvantaged backgrounds further their education and achieve their goals.

Mrs. Rose Sarfo, Medical Manager of Vista Associates, emphasized the family’s commitment to helping the people of Ankaase.

She said the family was setting up an orphanage to provide a haven for children who had lost their parents.

The family had also been donating funds to support the educational needs of bright but needy children in the community.

Mrs Sarfo used the occasion to urge parents to prioritize children’s upbringing by engaging in employable skills.
