Kpone, Sept. 21, GNA – The four deceased victims of the fire outbreak that occurred at Kpone-Kokompe farms on September 13, 2024, have been laid to rest at the Kpone cemetery.

The victims who were burnt beyond recognition were 27-year-old Paul Alagbayi, 13-year-old Christiana Pudima, 12-year-old Samuel Kojo Amesi, and two-year-old Samson Alagbayi.

The unfortunate incident, which occurred on Friday at about 23:20 hours, led to the razing of 10 wooden structures by fire.

The cause of the fire is yet to be made known by the Ghana National Fire Service, which is investigating the incident.

The Ghana News Agency gathered that the wife of Alagbayi is said to have delivered a baby at the time of the incident.

The funeral brought together members of the community, families of the victims, and schoolmates of the deceased who wept uncontrollably.

Reverend Gaisie Agbeshi, the Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church, Tema, in a sermon at the funeral, motivated the families and asked for God to console them.

He said with death as an inevitable enemy of mankind, it was important for everyone to submit themselves to God’s authority and be mindful of whatever they did on earth.

Madam Regina Dede Amanquah, the Assemblywoman for the Laloi electoral area, extended her condolences to the families, pledging to ensure that they and the other victims received the needed help.

She said that together with the Member of Parliament for Kpone-Katamanso, the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party, the Municipal Chief Executive, and the unit committee members of the electoral area, they would provide shelter, clothes, food, and other materials to the victims.

She called on non-governmental organisations to also come to the aid of the victims with some necessities.
