Bolgatanga, Nov. 03, GNA – The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Tempane Senior High School has donated a new pickup vehicle to the school to strengthen its administrative operations and to improve the delivery of educational services.

The vehicle is expected to facilitate administrative activities, transportation of examination materials and the conveyance of sick students to health facilities.

Mr Patrick Azumah Azanya, the Headmaster of the School, presented the vehicle to Mr Razak Z. Abdul-Korah, Upper East Regional Director of Education, on Thursday, October 29, for his blessings in keeping with customary practice.

In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bolgatanga by Mr Nathaniel Nyaaba, the Upper East Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), said Mr Abdul-Korah expressed gratitude to the PTA for its continued commitment to the development of the school.

Mr Abdul-Korah urged the school’s management to maintain the vehicle properly and ensure that it was used effectively for its intended purposes.

The Headmaster described the donation as a significant relief to the school, noting that it would enhance daily administrative operations and improve the school’s capacity to respond to students’ welfare needs.

He said the donation was not the first time the PTA had supported the school, disclosing that the Association had previously donated a Nissan pickup, which was currently grounded, and a TATA bus, which remained operational.

Mr Azanya commended the PTA for its sustained support but appealed for further assistance, particularly to address the school’s infrastructure needs.

He identified the provision of teachers’ bungalows as a major priority, explaining that although the school had a teaching staff strength of more than 100, only six teachers lived on campus.

He described the situation as woefully inadequate, saying the limited number of teachers residing on campus affected effective supervision and efforts to curb indiscipline among students, particularly at night.

The Headmaster said additional residential accommodation for teachers would strengthen supervision and contribute to a safer and more disciplined learning environment.

The school’s management pledged to ensure the proper maintenance and effective use of the vehicle to support the institution’s administration and student welfare.
