Accra, Nov. 04, GNA – The South East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is set to make its historic first appearance at the West-Central Africa Division (WAD) Annual Council, popularly known as the Year-End Meeting, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The meeting, scheduled for November 4 to 11, 2026, at the Division’s headquarters in Abidjan, marks a significant milestone for SEGUM, following its inauguration in January 2026.
A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency by Pastor Dr Samuel K. Dorgbetor, the Communication Director of SEGUM, said the participation of the newly established Union would strengthen its administrative relationship with the wider Church leadership and align its mission priorities with the strategic direction of the Division and the global Church.
It said the Year-End Meeting was the highest administrative gathering of the Division for the year, providing an opportunity to assess the Church’s mission, review achievements and challenges, ensure accountability in stewardship and seek divine guidance for future activities.
“The Council is expected to bring together leaders and officers from the Division’s 13 Union Conferences and Missions across 22 countries for spiritual, administrative and strategic engagements,” the statement said.
“Activities will include daily devotionals and prayer sessions, presentations of annual reports by Union presidents, executive secretaries, treasurers, departmental directors and institutional leaders, as well as financial and audit reports to promote transparency and accountability,” it added.
The statement said participants would also review the performance of various departments, including evangelism, education, health, youth and women’s ministries, while deliberating on strategic priorities and policies for the coming year.
A key focus would be the Church’s global OneVoice27 evangelistic initiative, alongside efforts to promote evangelism, increase baptismal growth and strengthen institutional development.
The statement said officers of SEGUM, together with their counterparts from other Union Conferences and Missions in Ghana and across the Division, were expected to participate in the deliberations and present reports on the progress, challenges and achievements of their respective territories.
It stressed that beyond administrative reporting, the meeting would provide an opportunity for spiritual reflection, leadership engagement and renewed commitment to the proclamation of the everlasting gospel.
SEGUM expressed confidence that the Lord would guide the proceedings, sustain the leadership and empower the Church to remain faithful to its divine mandate.
