Berekum, (Bono), Nov. 02, GNA-Mr Ohene Amankwaa Gyan, a legal practitioner, has announced his intention to vie for the Berekum East Parliamentary primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), ahead of the Election 2028.
The private legal practitioner gave the announcement when he paid courtesy to Odeefour Kofi Asante II, the Paramount Chief of the Berekum Traditional Area in his palace at Berekum in the Bono Region.
Mr Gyan said though the party had not opened nominations, he considered it prudent to inform the Paramount Chief and the Berekum Traditional Council about his intention.
“I will also be on the ballot paper when the NPP opens nominations in 2027, and I am here to inform you as I push my political career to the next pedestal”, he stated.
Mr Gyan said his decision to contest for the parliamentary seat was to ensure that the development of Berekum was brought to the next level.
Odeefour Asante II commended him for his respect, saying that the traditional council was solidly behind him.
He advised the aspirant to intensify his political campaign and market his vision clearly to the electorate and to gain their trust and confidence and support.
