Wa (UW/R), Nov. 06, GNA – Electro Point, a retail outlet for electronic appliances, has opened a new branch in Wa to guarantee access to genuine and good quality electronic appliances in the Upper West Region.
The new outlet, a partnership between Somotex Ghana Limited and Jamang Enterprises, was expected to address the challenge of consumers travelling to major commercial centres such as Tamale, Kumasi and Accra to purchase household appliances.
The outlet stocked a wide range of household electronic appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, television sets, air conditioners and smaller appliances such as blenders, among other products.
Speaking at the grand opening of the outlet, Mr Shivesh Srivastava, Business Head of Somotex Ghana Limited, assured the consumers in the region reliable after-sales services for appliance purchased from Electro Point.
“After-sales service is very important because these are appliances and they might develop problems.
There should be some arrangement for customers to receive assistance”, he said.
He said the opening formed part of the company’s commitment to expanding its retail presence across the country and bringing quality electronic products closer to consumers.
Mr Srivastava said Somotex Ghana Limited had been in Ghana for about six decades and had built a strong reputation through brands such as Polytank, one of its earliest products introduced into the Ghanaian market.
He explained that the company had expanded into the manufacturing, distribution, retailing and after-sales servicing of consumer electronics and household appliances.
He said the decision to establish a branch in Wa was informed by the city’s commercial potential and the need to make genuine electronic products readily accessible to consumers in the region.
“The three things which I want to assure and promise the customers of Wa are that you are going to get the original product, better prices and after-sales service”, Mr Srivastava said.
He said some of the company’s products, including air conditioners, television sets and gas cookers, were manufactured or assembled locally in Ghana, which guaranteed quality products at affordable prices.
Mr Kaushik Biswas, Northern Ghana Regional Head, Somotex Ghana Limited, said: “Electro Point is not just a showroom; it is a destination where you get brands of pure perfection. It is a symbol of perfection.”
He, therefore, appealed for the continued support of the traditional authorities in the area for the successful operation and expansion of the business.
Naa Jaafar Natasung Pelpuo, Chief of Biihee, who chaired the event, described the initiative as a significant development for Wa, as it would contribute to the area’s commercial growth.
He commended the management of Electro Point for choosing Wa as the location for the new outlet and assured them of the traditional authorities’ support and cooperation to protect the investment.
Mr Ernest Nii Tieko Aryee, Area Finance Officer, Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), assured the people: “Once you purchase all these products, you are assured of stable power supply in and around your homes.”
It was announced that Stanbic Bank had established partnership Electro Point to make it easier for individuals and households to acquire electronic appliances from the company through flexible financing arrangements.
