wifo Agona (C/R), Nov. 5, GNA** – Mr Curtis William Brantuo, Acting Managing Director of ARB Apex Bank PLC, has urged community banks to treat all customers equally to strengthen their ability to attract and retain clients.

He made the call at the commissioning of a new operational edifice constructed by Twifu Community Bank PLC for its branch at Twifo Agona, as part of the bank’s annual general engagement held in the town.

The construction of the new building followed the destruction by fire of the branch’s previous rented premises, compelling the chiefs and elders of the Agona community to provide land for a new facility.

Mr Brantuo urged the staff to uphold key principles of good customer care, including empathy, active listening, clear communication, timely responses and respect, to deliver excellent services and attract more customers to boost the bank’s reputation and revenue.

He later joined Mr Charles Owusu-Aduamere, Acting Board Chairman; Mr Alhaji Adam Al-Hassan, Acting Chief Executive Officer; Mr Isaac Arkhurst Yamoah of the Central Regional Chapter of ARB; Professor William K. Buah, immediate past Board Chairman, and other dignitaries to unveil a plaque to officially commission the facility.

Mr Brantuo commended the directors, management and staff for their hard work, which had contributed to the bank’s continuous growth and the construction of its own building.

He said the new edifice represented more than a physical structure, describing it as a testament to the dedication and commitment of the staff who would work there.

“What we are expecting from Twifu Community Bank is that they must cultivate a maintenance culture to prolong the lifespan of the edifice,” he added.

Mr Arkhurst Yamoah, who represented Mrs Patience Antonio, Central Regional Chapter President of ARB, expressed appreciation to the chiefs for providing land for the project.

He said the facility would enable the bank to provide personalised, efficient and competitive banking services to customers in Twifo Agona and surrounding towns and villages.

Professor Buah, in a speech, urged staff posted to the branch to work with integrity and in accordance with the rules and regulations governing community banking.

He also advised them to maintain peaceful relations with the people of the town and encouraged management to undertake regular maintenance of the building to ensure it served its intended purpose for present and future generations.

“We are also appealing to the chiefs and the entire community members to have confidence, continue to do business with the bank and also support the staff when they need your assistance,” he added.

In a message delivered on behalf of Nana Agona Abam Tawiah, the Odikro of the town, the chief thanked the bank for bringing banking services closer to the people and pledged the community’s readiness to release additional land for the construction of staff accommodation.

He, however, identified internet connectivity as one of the challenges facing the branch and appealed to management to help secure a stable network to ensure smooth banking operations without internet interruptions.

The building was dedicated to Professor William K. Buah, whose efforts and instrumental role contributed to the realisation of the project.
