Bibiani (WN/R), Nov. 06, GNA – Mr Yaw Bariamah, the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has endorsed Mr Michael Aidoo, the incumbent Western North Regional Chairman of the party for re-election.

In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, Mr Bariamah said the Regional Chairman possessed the leadership qualities, experience, and commitment required to lead the party in the region and help it retain political power in the 2028 general election.

He said his decision was informed by Mr Aidoo’s dedication, contribution, and commitment to the growth of the party, noting that his leadership remained crucial to the party’s electoral fortunes.

He described Mr Aidoo, who also serves as a Member of the Council of State, as a dedicated, committed and strategic politician with considerable experience and the financial capacity to support the party’s activities.

“My decision followed extensive consultations with the party’s grassroots, constituency executives, campaign leadership, elders and other stakeholders across the region, so I decided to throw my full support and political weight behind Mr Aidoo’s candidature in the regional chairmanship contest,” he added.

Mr Bariamah, therefore, appealed to party executives and delegates across the Western North Region to vote for the incumbent chairman at the polls on November 14, 2026, to elect its regional executives.

He urged delegates to prioritise the broader interest of the party and consider a candidate who had demonstrated commitment, dedication, transparency, and the capacity to strengthen the party’s electoral fortunes.

He noted that Mr Aidoo had served the NDC for the past 12 years in various capacities, from the constituency executive level to the regional leadership, making him an experienced and tested party administrator who would advance the party’s vision, particularly in promoting youth employment and attracting more development projects to the Western North Region.

Mr Bariamah urged delegates to recognise the contribution and achievement of Mr Aidoo by re-electing him, saying his continued leadership would promote collaboration, unity and commitment among party members.

He expressed confidence that retaining Mr Aidoo as regional chairman would strengthen the party’s organisational structures and improve its chances of protecting and winning more parliamentary seats in the region in the 2028 general elections
