Nfantefom (C/R), Oct. 01, GNA-The Chief of Twifo Nfantefom in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower- Denkyira District of the Central Region, Nana Kojo Koomson II has appealed to the government to post teachers and provide furniture for the Nfantefom D/A Basic School.
According to the chief, although the school had received support from Okra Projects and partners with the construction of a three-unit classroom block, it continued to face challenges, particularly inadequate teachers and furniture.
The chief made the appeal during the commissioning of a newly constructed three-unit classroom block for the Nfantefom D/A Basic School.
Nana Koomson revealed that some teachers currently working at the school were being supported financially by the community, placing additional burden on residents.
He therefore called on the government and relevant authorities to post more teachers to the school and provide adequate furniture to improve teaching and learning.
Mr Cyprus Nii Sackey, Leader of Okra Projects and partners, and Nana Otosi Otubea Amoah I, Dabrehemaa of the Agona-Nsaba Traditional Area, also urged the District Education Directorate and the District Chief Executive (DCE) to support the school with the logistics.
They further called on parents to attach greater importance to their children’s education and provide the necessary support for their academic development.
The DCE for Twifo- Hemang-Lower- Denkyira, Mr Patrick Fiable, commended Okra Projects and partners for their contribution to the development of the district.
He said the projects being undertaken by the organisation were significantly contributing to improving infrastructure in the area.
Mr Fiable also stated that several development projects in the district, including roads and electricity projects were undertaken under successive NDC administrations and urged the people to support the government.
He added that the government’s Resetting Ghana Agenda would continue to focus on addressing development challenges and improving the living conditions of residents in the Area.
