Atuabo (W/R), Oct. 04, GNA – Nana Amihere Blay II, the newly installed “Chief of Amihere Blay (A.B.) Bokazo,” has sworn the oath of allegiance to Awulae Blay IX, Paramount Chief of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area at Atuabo in the Ellembelle District.
Nana Amihere Blay II was installed Divisional Chief of A.B. Bokazo about two years ago following the demise of his predecessor, Nana Nwiah Amgboza IV.
The royal swearing-in ceremony, held at the Atuabo Palace in the Ellembelle District, was witnessed by members of the royal Ndweafo Family and traditional rulers in the area.
As part of the customary rites, Nana Amihere Blay II swore the oath of allegiance three times before the throne of Awulae Blay IX, with the ceremonial sword pointed to the ground.
Nana Amihere Blay II pledged his continued allegiance to the Paramount Chief and said he would abide by the rules, regulations and customary practices governing chieftaincy in the traditional area.
A staunch Roman Catholic, he expressed the belief that the Holy Spirit would guide him to reign successfully, while relying on the advice and direction of Awulae Blay IX and members of the Standing Committee of the Council.
Awulae Blay IX, in a message delivered on his behalf by Nana Bonya Kofi, Chief of Basake and a member of the Standing Committee of the Council, advised Nana Amihere Blay II to exercise patience and decorum in the discharge of his duties.
He said patience, humility, tolerance and unity would enable the new Chief to effectively steer the affairs of the community and facilitate its development.
Nana Bonya Kofi also urged the elders of the community to exercise patience in their demands on the Chief and resolve their differences amicably to prevent conflicts.
Nana Bazil Kpole, Head of the Ndweafo Royal Family at Atuabo, reminded Nana Amihere Blay II that he had been installed as chief to serve his people and not to be served.
He, therefore, advised him to lead an exemplary life and work in the interest of his people to earn their support and cooperation.
